The results of the present study show many Americans still hold a dismissive view of COVID-19 vaccines. As of April 2023, 30% of the population have not been vaccinated with primary doses, and 83% of those eligible have not received a booster dose.
The number of East Africans experiencing acute food insecurity – when a lack of food puts lives or livelihoods in immediate danger – has spiked by 60% in just the last year, and by nearly 40% in West Africa, according to the World Food Programme (WFP).
The update also adds more whole grains, canned fish and non-dairy options to their shopping carts. The effort is aimed at expanding the number and type of healthy foods available to families who get assistance from the Agriculture Department’s program known as WIC, officials said.
